![]() | Toy Story (Two-Disc Special Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo in Blu-ray Packaging)
Buy new: $20.99 / Used from: $14.22 Despite the fact that this film is an experiment as being the first full CGI animated movie, Toy Story still holds up very well by today's standards, allowing a heartwarming and funny story to take over, without the technology becoming a gimmick. Toy Story is the perfect launching point to a near-perfect film franchise. 9/10

![]() | A Bug's Life [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $30.99 / Used from: $16.19 Pixar's sophomore effort lacks the charm and wit its predecessor so expertly achieved, but still manages to tell a compelling story seemingly right out of an Akira Kurosawa film, with weaker laughs along the way intended for younger audiences than Toy Story. 6/10

![]() | Toy Story 2 (Two-Disc Special Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo w/ Blu-ray Packaging)
Buy new: $20.99 / Used from: $13.96 As genious as the first, Toy Story 2 introduces a concept that few beloved kids' franchises are allowed: mortality, a concept that allows the characters to grow and deepen like few other popular franchise characters do. 9/10
|
![]() | Monsters, Inc. (Four-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy) [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $44.99 / Used from: $24.50 Pete Doctor's directorial debut, this is one of Pixar's most heartwarming and satirical tales about acceptance and facing one's fears. This clever film is one of the studio's strongest, with signs of maturity in animation techniques proudly showing itself, such examples being humans and hair (Sully's fur). 8/10
|
![]() | Finding Nemo (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)
Buy new: $17.49 / Used from: $9.75 Finding Nemo finds its strength in its humor, particularly with the brilliant team that Albert Brooks (Marlin) and Ellen DeGeneres (Dory) make, along with an entertaining, but somewhat cliche, story. 7/10
|
![]() | The Incredibles (Two-Disc Collector's Edition)
Buy new: $17.49 / Used from: $3.43 This is one of Pixar's most mature efforts, with small amounts of more adult humor weaved into an engaging story similar to superhero graphic novels such as Watchmen, The Dark Knight Returns, or Justice League: the New Frontier. 9/10
|
![]() | Cars [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $22.99 / Used from: $9.97 John Lasseter returns to the director's chair for the first time since Toy Story 2 in Pixar's weakest film yet. Cars almost exclusively relies on witty (and very entertaining) humor, lacking in an original story, and mostly driven (no pun intended) by shallow characters. 4/10
|
![]() | Ratatouille [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $22.45 / Used from: $12.86 Where Ratatouille really shines is its visual and atmospheric style, complemented with a surprisingly deep and engaging story, with a fun mix of laughs mixed in to help with the aftertaste. 8/10
|
![]() | Wall-E (Two-Disc Edition + BD Live) [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $21.08 / Used from: $11.00 Wall-E's greatest strength is in its stunningly beautiful visuals and Pixar's meticulous attention to every little detail. Combine this with an engaging story and you get a modern science fiction tale that takes the best of Huxley's "Brave New World," Lucas's "THX 1138" and Kubrick's "2001: A Space Odyssey" and blends them together into something quite special. 9/10
|
![]() | Up (Four-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + BD Live) [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $30.64 / Used from: $16.00 Up is an uneven movie: the first twenty minutes reach an almost artistic quality by impressively painting the main character's back story and establishing the meaning of the plot in a very down-to-Earth fashion, before taking a jarring turn into a world of wacky and over-the-top occurrences that make it feel like an entirely different film with lukewarm humor. 7/10
|
![]() | Toy Story 3 (Four-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + Digital Copy)
Buy new: $27.95 / Used from: $9.99 This is the perfect ending (or new beginning) to Pixar's most beloved film series, a genuine reward for fans who patiently waited 11 years for the conclusion of a 15-year journey. Perfectly blending story, humor, action, and visuals together, this is not only the best in the Toy Story series, but the absolute best Pixar film to date. 10/10
