Bloody brilliant. It's only half of a story and has no ending, but Deathly Hallows Part 1 is still one of the best movies I've seen this year. It's beautiful, emotional, immaculately conceived and filmed. Bring on Part 2!

Christian Bale and Mark Wahlberg are both truly award worthy in this mesmerizing drama directed by David O. Russell. The Fighter doesn't really break any new ground when it comes to boxing dramas but it's so well made all around that it's simply a must see.

Darren Aronofsky's mysterious thriller about an obsessed ballerina in a production of Swan Lake. I wasn't totally won over by it the first time, but Aronofsky's work always deepens with multiple viewings. A fascinating film.

A very good French crime drama. Goodfellas in a French prison... sort of. I certainly enjoyed A Prophet, but I wasn't bowled over by it. I still highly recommend it to all lovers of foreign cinema.

A movie with Robert Duvall and Bill Murray together? Sign me up! This is a really enjoyable film that really makes me want to see Duvall onscreen more often.
