![]() | Black Adder (Remastered Ultimate Edition)
Buy new: $53.99 / Used from: $47.72 A superb comedy that begs for more episodes. Season One is not to everyone's tastes, but watch it anyway for background (I actually like it, myself). Then watch the laughs rip for the next three episodes. A true commedy classic.

![]() | The Office: The Complete BBC Collection (First and Second Series Plus Special)
Buy new: $19.49 / Used from: $3.99 A number of reviewers feel that this two-season series will eventually become a classic akin to Fawtly Towers, but don't worry about that before watching. But make sure you get the British version here to sample what must be some of the quirkiest humour surrounding emplyment you've ever seen. Hilarious at moments, sad in others, it's nothing if not unique.

![]() | Robin Hood: The Complete Series
Buy new: $65.99 / Used from: $60.86 Perhaps the best Robin Hood ever put to film, this amazing show is dramatic, funny, visually lush, with fantastic on-site locations and a truly outstanding cast. Watch the first two episodes and see if you are not hooked right up through the end of Season 3. Seasons 1 and 2 are the traditional story, and Season 3 has some large twists...

![]() | MI-5, Volume 1
Buy new: $19.49 / Used from: $15.96 MI-5 is one of the best criminal drama shows ever made, bar none. Season One gets off to what we might call a slow and rocky start, but by the end of the season, the show seems to find its bearings, ending with quite a crescendo that makes your move to Season Two a done deal.
|
![]() | MI-5, Volume 2
Buy new: $26.99 / Used from: $25.63 Season Two of MI-5 starts revealing what this show is really capable of, and by half way through the season, one begins to wonder how they can maintain the pace. Not only do they do so, but they do it increasingly more powerfully ways in each episode. It's like watching a plate-twirler continuing to add more plates, and keeping them all spinning. Amazing.
|
![]() | MI-5, Volume 3
Buy new: $26.99 / Used from: $24.99 I won't repeat all the seasons through Season Seven here, but by Season Three, MI-5 establishes itself as one of the most dramatic and, at times, epic, shows, one that provokes deep thought and analysis of the world of spying and its relatiship to democracy. The show continues to outdo itself from season to season. Really. Its the truth.

![]() | Planet Earth: The Complete BBC Series [Blu-ray]
Buy new: $41.55 / Used from: $20.70 The endless accolades make any additional reviews seem pointless, but this epic journey can be immensely enjoyed either in the DVD or in the Blue Ray formats. It cost $25 million for the BBC to make this, and it shows in every frame.
|
![]() | Fawlty Towers: The Complete Collection Remastered
Buy new: $21.99 / Used from: $20.89 Considered a high point of comedic expression, this all too short vignette of twelve episodes is nothing short of hilarious.
|
![]() | Jeeves & Wooster - The Complete Series
Buy used from: $25.00 Before he was House, Hugh Laurie was well known for many recurring and popular roles, often with Stephen Fry, and these adaptations of the famous short stories by P. G. Wodehouse with both Laurie and Fry are simply delightful examples. You'll have to "bone up" on the dizzying array of Britishisms that are used, but that's all part of the fun. A real classic that is different from many comedies.
|
![]() | Jeeves & Wooster: The Complete Series
Buy new: $25.49 / Used from: $23.25 Wodehouse's fascinating and funny look into early and middle 20th century England is expertly played out by Fry and Laurie. Beautiful scenes, costumes, and cars accompany the splendid acting of Fry and Laurie. A British classic.
|
![]() | Extras: The Complete Series by Extras
Buy new: $17.49 / Used from: $16.75 This is a strange, but often thought provoking, look at what drives people to achieve, whether it makes sense to us, or not. Quirky and original.
|
![]() | State of Play
Buy new: $17.99 / Used from: $13.99 A compelling political/criminal/media drama that keeps your attention and interest all the way through six sequential episodes as the story plays out. There's a reason why it has received the positive reviews it has.
